VFC Finds New League
Today, you will likely hear about, or see, a press release from the AHF, the Atlantic Hockey Federation, this league was put together last season as a Showcase formatted league. Next season it will be a full league, like any other league we have played in.
VFC will be joining this league and leaving the DVHL. It will not change anything about VFC or how we run our Club. The only difference will be the league we play in. We believe that this league will give our teams a better opportunity for better/more equal competition at all levels of play – AA through B American. We also believe that there will be better visibility of our players at higher levels.
This league will be Tier 2 hockey and it will be the same tryout dates as all Tier 2 hockey. Nothing changes except the league we are in. Some Clubs we currently play will also be joining this league, while some will be new. The travel may look slightly different and the distances may be closer in some cases.
It will allow all of our teams to be in the same league again – Mite through U18. This current season, we are in 4 different leagues because there isn’t one league that could fulfill all of our needs.
We are excited about this change and look forward to the future of this league. Please feel free to visit https://atlantichockeyfederation.com/ahf-2022-2023/ for more information. VFC will be holding informational meetings on Tuesday 11/2 and Wednesday 11/3 at 6pm upstairs in the party room both evenings for anyone that may have questions.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mike or Joanne at any time, as always.
